Insta respects the rights of creators and other copyright owners. Use this page to prepare a report identifying material or activity on Insta that you believe infringes your rights. It does not represent registration of a designated DMCA agent or a guarantee of eligibility for any legal safe harbour.
What to include in a report
- Your name and reliable contact information.
- A description of the copyrighted work and, where available, a link showing the original work.
- The exact Insta URL and enough detail to locate the material or activity you are reporting. Include the source post URL if relevant.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Where reports can be submitted
A public reporting address has not yet been configured for this private preview. The Contact page states the current support status. This page does not submit or deliver a report. A working reporting address must be published before public launch.
Limits of what Insta can remove
Insta cannot delete a post hosted on Insta or FB. For removal from the original platform, use that platform’s reporting process. If the concern relates to something displayed or made available by Insta itself, identify that specific location in your report.
Disputes and accuracy
Submit accurate information and do not report material merely because you disagree with it. Applicable notice, response, and counter-notice procedures depend on the service and law involved. This page provides reporting guidance and is not a substitute for legal advice.
